Located in the center of the Bahamas chain, Exuma consists of about 365 small cays and two main islands, Great Exuma and Little Exuma, which are connected by a short bridge.
Exuma's capital, George Town, the largest settlement, is located on Great Exuma and is home to about 1,000 people. The Tropic of Cancer runs directly through George Town. Quaint and quiet, the town is the administrative center of the Exumas. There are a several shops, 2 grocery stores, a post office, gas station and a bank. There are several restaurants in the area, which also provide nightlife in the form of live bands and dancing.

While the Exumas are known for world-class diving, sailing and yachting, the cays also provide a protected home to several species of birds, exotic reptiles, fish and flora. The Exuma National Land and Sea Park of the Bahamas National Trust consumes a 176 square mile area.
Far away but always connected, direct daily connections to Nassau or Miami are available through the Exuma international airport.
